Create a motto!

Practice: There are some statements and words I repeatedly remind myself to feel better when I am disappointed. For instance, if I fail in a competition, I tell myself: “It doesn’t matter!” or “It is OK. I will try again!”

 

  • Now, think about an event that disappointed you recently. Use the following mottos when that moment comes:
  • “It is OK. I will try again!”
  • “It doesn’t matter!”
  • “I can always try again later!”
  • “Whatever happens, I am doing great!”
  • “I am loved!”
  • “Don’t you worry about it!”
