Pre-WWII Developments and Regime Types

II. Pre-WWII Developments and Regime Types

Practice: The PDF document titled “3 Leaders, 3 Regimes” is handed out to the students as homework. The students are told that they will first examine the detailed characteristics of 3 different regimes-ideologies and 3 different leaders, and then they fill in the template. Resources such as Edpuzzle, Khan Academy, YouTube etc. are shared with students. Based on these sources and individual research, the impact of such regimes on the period leading to World War II, especially how the racist and aggressive policies of the regimes that emerged in Germany and Italy dragged the whole world into a disaster, are emphasized. They are also expected to understand anti-democratic people’s accession to power, which is followed by the emergence of Fascism and Nazism and an increasing totalitarianism in the government.
