Introduction to Agriculture and Agricultural Practice Methods

Introduction to Agriculture and Agricultural Practice Methods

Practice: The lesson begins with this question: “What is agriculture and why is it important for us?”

Texts are handed out to the students to give information on how agriculture has impacted all civilizations throughout the history, as well as on current agricultural methods used in our era. During the preparation process, each of them learns about traditional and modern agriculture methods. The lesson is reinforced with texts, images, and videos.

Students are divided into groups, with each group representing an agricultural method. A debate takes place to discuss the positive-negative aspects and deficiencies of each method, and their impact on the ecosystem and the environment. After all the discussions, a common ground is reached on the evolution and most recent state of agriculture, and which sustainable farming method should be used.
