The “Patterned Necklace” activity
Practice:
Students read a story book called “Uh-oh, My Heart Is Broken”. What would you do if you were the one that accidentally drops the ice cream of the character, “Kalben”, in the book? Questions such as “What can you try to do to make your friend feel better?” are asked and discussions are made.
The teacher suggests the idea of making a necklace for Kalben to feel good. Each student is provided with different shapes or colors of beads, and encouraged to create their own patterns and make necklaces.
