Story of Names

Story of Names

Practice: Each student pairs up and asks the following questions to each other: Who named you? What does your name mean? Is there a story about it? Do you like your name?

You can then ask them to ask the following questions to encourage some discussion.

  • Have you learnt anything new about your friends in this activity despite having already known each other?
  • What do you think about what you have learnt about your friends’ name?
  • Which of the stories behind the names sounded interesting to you? Why?
