Success Exercise

Success Exercise

Practice: What does “success” prompt in your mind? What would make you feel successful? We ask you to think about the three key aspects in your life. These are self, social area, and academic area.

Self: This area is about your personal aspects that you think are important to demonstrate in life and that you wish to improve.

Social area: This area involves your social relationships and social contact with family members, friends, and people around you.

Academic area: This area is about your life with a focus on your school and career.

Students are asked to draw 4 intertwined circles. They are asked to place themselves at the center of these circles and list the important areas, starting from the innermost one through the outermost circle. They are later expected to write down to explain why they choose to put them in that order and what those areas represent for them. Following that, they are asked to score themselves from 1 to 10 for the traits they demonstrate for each area. After they score themselves, a discussion takes place to talk about whether they feel self-sufficient, and the score they would like to reach where they don’t feel sufficient, as well as what should be done for improvement.
