Hedgehog's Friendship Story

Hedgehog’s Friendship Story

Practice: The Hedgehog’s Story, an animation, is viewed with the children. After the animation, the children are asked about how this story made them feel. They are asked to tell the story through the eyes of the Hedgehog and then, this time, they are asked to tell it through the eyes of the animals in the story. Here, a discussion on empathy and solution-oriented approach for new situations or problems can be held with the children.

Later in the activity, the focus is now given on the children’s own experiences, feelings, and attitudes.

  • Have you ever felt like the hedgehog in the animation you have just seen?
  • Have you ever treated someone else like the other children (animals in the story) in the animation you watched? What did you think and how did you feel while behaving this way?
  • What do you do when someone engages in behaviors that you don’t like, and they continue to do so even though you warned them?
  • How do you know if your behavior is bothering someone else?
  • When you experience negative situations or feelings, who can you talk to or get help from?
