Autobiography Activities
Practice: The activity and its purpose are introduced to the students at the counseling lesson. Everyone is asked to fill out the form as they want and the conditions for keeping their information confidential are explained. Forms and activities completed are reviewed and interpreted by the relevant psychological counselor. The purpose of the autobiography activity is to reveal an individual’s feelings, conflicts, expectations, the basic needs underlying their behaviors, unmet desires, and hopes.
When the autobiography is interpreted, focus is placed upon such factors as the length-conciseness of it, the care and attitude in narration, overall inconsistencies, an overall view/vibe of it, key events and people not included in it, while themes to cover in individual meetings are determined.
