Mocking
Practice: A short story of a child who is mocked is told to the students, and what the witnesses should do in such cases and how a victim should behave are investigated through questions.
“Hasan was a thin and tall boy. One day he brought a lovely bag. Cem took it from Hasan’s hand for me to look at. Hasan got angry with Cem and said “give my bag back”. Cem said “take your bag, stork,” and threw it. Following this incident, some children started to call Hasan STORK.”
Ask students the following questions:
- How might Hasan have felt in this situation?
- What should Hasan do in this situation?
- Has anyone ever called you a name? If so, how did you feel?
- Have you called a friend a name?
- What should ones who see or witness this do?
